Happy Mean Girls Day, readers! It’s time for my first weekly reading check in. I think I’ve been putting more books on my TBR than actually reading so far this month. There are just so many good horror and thriller books I want to check out.
The weather here was beautiful this weekend so I got to spend some time outside reading the second book in the Folk of the Air series. I read The Cruel Prince a couple weeks ago and devoured it much more quickly than I’m taking to The Wicked King. I don’t think there’s anything un-enticing about the second book, per se, I just seem better off taking a break between books in a series for some reason.

I’m hoping to finish this one up this week so I can fully dive into my spooky TBR for October. Other than that, I’ve also started a short story collection, Songs for the Unraveling of the World, which is featured in yesterday’s post – Spooktober to be read books || #bookblog #bookblogger. It’s actually really creepy so far! So much so that I didn’t read any of it last night. Too spooky. I’ll stick with the fantasy books for night time reading! 😂
I’ve also just received the audiobook for Mexican Gothic so I’m planning to start that one today while I work! I’m excited to see if I like it or not after hearing so many mixed reviews.
Hopefully next week I’ll be able to report some finished books. If not, someone will need to kick me into gear! 😃
Has anyone read any of my three current reads?? What did you think, or are you interested in reading any of them?
