Welcome to my first Top Ten Tuesday! TTT is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and features a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Favorite Bookstores OR Bookstores I’d Love to Visit. My first reaction to this prompt is… I want to visit every bookstore. There aren’t a lot of interesting bookstores in my area, probably because a lot of people have switched over to electronic reading for the most part (I’m one of them!), but I still love to check out new bookstores when I’m visiting a city.
I’m keeping this at a top 5 for today because I’m not aware of 10 different specific bookstores I’d like to visit, but hoping to find new ones in other bloggers’ posts!

- The Mysterious Bookshop in NYC – I’m all about thriller/mystery books and I’ve never actually been to a genre-themed bookstore before so this seems fun!
- The Last Bookstore in L.A. – You’ve probably seen pictures of their labyrinth of bookshelves and book arches. I would definitely pay a visit if I was in the area.
- Livraria Lello in Portugal – The architecture of this bookstore is stunning! You even have to have a ticket to visit.
- Shakespeare and Company in Paris – This bookstore has always seemed so cute and idyllic to me. It was also the first book to publish Joyce’s Ulysses in full!
- Chongqing Zhongshuge in China – This is the bookstore featured in the photo in today’s entry I really love the design of this place and it’s 36,000 square feet!!
Have you visited any of the bookstores on my list? Are there any you would be interested in?
I just saw The Last Bookstore on another list today — first time I’d heard of it, but now I absolutely want to go there! These all sound like amazing places to visit. Great list!

I think I only knew about that bookstore because I’ve seen a lot of people take pictures of themselves in the book arches. So cool! 😃

I still need to visit The Last Bookstore! I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and still haven’t gone 😦
