General Bookish

Stacking the Shelves – Oct 29

Happy Saturday, reading friends! 💜 Stacking The Shelves is a weekly prompt hosted by Marlene of Reading Reality where we share the books we’re adding to our shelves, whether they’re physical or virtual. I heavily utilize my local library, so the books I showcase here may be either newly borrowed or newly owned. 😊

This was a wildly busy week at work so I didn’t manage to do much reading or other bookish things. I’ve only added one book to my shelves this week, but I do have several ARC requests out on NetGalley so hopefully some of those will come through soon and I’ll have more new things to read! ♥️

The book I got this week I’ve just been seeing everywhere so I thought I’d check it out. It sounds really good so we’ll see!

  1. The Family Game by Catherine Steadman. I’ve seen this thriller described as the movie Ready Or Not in book form. I loved that movie so I think I should like this book too. When Harriet meets her husband’s estranged wealthy family, old secrets begin pouring out and a potentially deadly game begins. I’m hoping the story has its own plot and twists that are unique though, because if it’s too much like a movie I’ve seen, I’ll probably wish it took less inspiration.

Have you read The Family Game yet? Do you have anything on your TBR you’re really looking forward to reading?

Have a great weekend! I’ll see you in your blogs. ❤
