Sunday Post || Sunday Salon – Book Blog Nov 6

The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.  The Sunday Salon is hosted by Readerbuzz and also gives readers and non-readers a chance to catch up with each other on their week!

Happy Sunday, friends! How are we feeling about this week’s manicure? It’s a summer-y vibe, but I must not be ready to commit to cold weather vibes yet! 😂 Although yesterday my partner and I went out for a sugar cookie almond milk latte from Starbucks, so we’re definitely getting in the mood soon. It was actually 80 degrees here one day this week. In November! That’s wild. It’s supposed drastically cool off in the next couple weeks though so I won’t complain about the warmth.

I’m sorry I haven’t been as present in everyone’s blogs this week. I’ve been sick, but planning to catch up on everyone’s week today! 💜

This week’s books/movies/shows:

  • Finished watching Dahmer yesterday. I didn’t enjoy it much, to be honest, though I thought Evan Peters did an excellent job. I won’t be watching a Gacy series if they do that next.
  • Started watching the new Chucky series last night. Episode one held my attention well so I’m hoping that I’ll mesh well with the show!
  • Currently finishing up The Last Housewife. I’ve only got probably 30-45 more minutes of reading on it.
  • Also started Missing Dead Girls which is an ARC from NetGalley. I’m 25% through now and it’s pretty good so far. Not stellar writing, but fun enough for a thriller.
  • Listening to The Handmaid’s Tale on audiobook. It’s slower than I thought it would be, but still interested in seeing where it goes.

For anyone who may have missed them, here are my blog posts for the week. I did a little better this week than the previous week. I think 4 blog posts is a good balance for me because I’m usually a little too busy for all 7 days.

Upcoming this week in my blog I’ll have:

  • The usual book memes (goodreads Monday, top ten Tuesday, www Wednesday, etc). Hoping to keep up better this week!
  • Review of The Last Housewife by Ashley Winstead

Question of the day: Have you seen any of the series I’ve watched this week or read any of the books? Are any of them on your to-watch or to-read list?

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week and you’ve got another ahead. Please feel free to reach out, comment, connect with my on other bookish socials any time! 💜

  1. I love the nails this week, so pretty. It’s been warm here this past week also and yesterday in the upper 70’s. I watched the Dahmer series and it gave me nightmares. If they make a Gacy series I’d watch it also. I haven’t read The Handmaid’s Tale, but I watch the show on Hulu.
Enjoy your books this week! I hope you feel better.

  2. oh wow your nails are so pretty. Looks like you are reading some interesting reads. I have heard of most of those memes, however, I haven’t of the Goodreads one. You have me intrigued. Hope you have a great reading week and that The Handsmaid’s Tale ends up being a satisfying read and picks up in its pacing for you.

  3. I need to finish Dahmer, but I’ve been distracted by other series. I can really only watch like one episode of Dahmer at a time. I actually got neon orange at my last pedicure, so I get the color thing, although I’m ready for the cooler weather. We had 80s the last week too! I tried listening to the audiobook of The Handmaid’s Tale and decided I would need to actually read the book. But I love the tv show, or did, I’ve gotten bored with this new season. Thanks for visiting my Sunday post at Lisa Loves Literature earlier! And I hope you get to feeling better soon!

    1. I definitely couldn’t binge watch Dahmer either. It was one episode every day or two for me. The audiobook for Handmaid’s Tale isn’t great, or at least the version I’m listening to isn’t haha

  4. I love the nails! I wish I could have nails like that.. but working as a nurse makes that impossible. I haven’t read/seen any of the series you’ve mentioned. The Handmaid’s Tale is on my wish list though.

  5. I’ve only gotten a manicure one time, for my son’s wedding, and when it came to trying to get those fake nails off…well, I’ve never done it again. But your nails are lovely.

We are suffering with heat. It was 84 yesterday at the book festival. Too hot for fall!

    1. It was in the 80s here last week too! Now it’s about to get cold so I think we might be done with the heat for the year.

I’ve never had fake nails but I feel like I would do really bad with them. I think I would be picking at them and making them fall off 😂
