Happy Tuesday, readers! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and features a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is series I’d like to start/catch up on/finish. This should be an easy topic for me because I have so many series on my TBR list and several that I’m in the process of reading too.

If you’re in the US, it’s voting day!! Please make sure you get out there and cast your ballot. I went bright and early this morning. I was in and out in less than ten minutes. It’s so important that you exercise your right to vote. 💜 💜
Moving on to Top Ten Tuesday, let’s jump into the series!
- The Folk of the Air. I’ve read the first 2 books in this series and I enjoyed both of them a lot. I took a break before reading the third just because I don’t like to rush through a series I’m enjoying. It gives me something to look forward to.
- A Court of Thorn and Roses. I started and then abandoned the first book in this series because I was reading too many other books at the time. I was enjoying what I had read of it and it seemed like it was just about to pick up before I set it aside so I’m looking forward to getting back into it.
- A Song of Ice and Fire. This is a series I’ve wanted to read for so long, but with it being unfinished I’ve not been motivated enough to actually start.
- Shatter Me. This would totally be a ‘social media made me do it’ read for me. I don’t know how much interest I actually have in it, but I just see posts about it so much that I’d like to read it and be in the know!
- Outlander. This isn’t my usual genre, but I’ve heard so many good things about this series that I have it on my maybe list.
- Goosebumps. Does this count??? I want to reread a lot of the goosebumps/fear street books that I read as a kid. It’s one of my goals for 2023 because I’ve been collecting them for a long time. I have about 50 Fear Street books that I haven’t read in probably since the late 90s.
- The Lord of the Rings. Would you believe I’ve never read or seen any of these? I definitely need to get on it!
- All For the Game. I’ve been hearing some good things about The Foxhole Court, but looking at reviews they’re very very mixed. Lots of five star ratings, but lots of one star ratings too so we’ll see.
- Six of Crows. I started the first book in this duology a couple years ago. It’s another that I was enjoying for the most part, but I just ended up setting aside for other things on my current reads list and I never went back to it. I want to give it another try soon though.
- Shades of Magic. I’ve been wanting to check out V.E. Schwab’s books for a while now. The concept of multiple universe Londons it’s super cool as long as it’s clearly written so I’m hoping to read the first in this series at some point.
Do we share any common characters on our lists? Be sure to share your post in the comments too if you have one!
I think watching or reading or LOTR is a must for fantasy fans as so many authors have been inspired by Tolkein. I loved Shades of Magic and the Leigh Bardugo books. I hope you get to some of these soon

I definitely need to make time for some of these because I’ve heard so many good things!

I understand the frustration/hesitancy to start a Song of Ice and Fire since I’m not convinced George R.R. Martin will ever finish that. I’ve read all of it and liked it a good deal. But I’m also a literary snob who wants/has to read the books first and dropped out of Game of Thrones on TV in season four (not due to lack of interest, but I got behind and life happens sometimes).
A friend convinced me that Outlander started as Dr Who fan-fic and so I read it. And maybe it was, but the novel was good. Not that I’ve read any more of the series, mind you.
I gues that means it could go on my TTT list as well. 🙂

It was probably best that you stopped GoT after season 4 honestly! It was still good for some time after that but the ending… yikes! I’m not convinced that he’ll ever finish the book series either so I feel like I’ll just end up giving up and reading what is available at some point.

I loved the goosebumps books when I was a kid. Rereading them would be super fun.

I enjoyed ACOTAR then left it for a bit. Once I got back into it I got really invested in the series!
I want to read Lord of the Rings. I love the films although The Hobbit was my favourite. I have read that.
Have a great week!

My husband and I finally finished filling out our ballots yesterday. He dropped them off and said there were quite a few people doing the same. That was good to hear since so many people seem to feel so apathetic about voting these days.
As for series, I’ve read LOTR and the first Outlander book. I liked it, but I never continued with the series for some reason. It’s been so long now that I would have to go back and re-read the first book in order to continue and I probably won’t since I hate re-reading. Oh well! I hope you enjoy it and all these other series.
Happy TTT!

Good to hear that there were a lot of people dropping off their ballots! My county’s early voting was up 20% this year over 2018 midterms so that’s great.
I’m not a big fan of rereading either. I have to have a lot of time between rereads, but I think it’s probably just because my TBR list is so long that I don’t have much time to read things multiple times.

How could I forget the Schwab series Shades of Magic???? Guess that tells me I have too many unfinished ones….maybe that’s a challenge/goal for next year?
Hope you enjoy the books.

It’s hard to remember all the series we’ve started and still need to finish. I definitely forgot some on my list too 😂

I’m in the same boat with A Song of Ice and Fire. I liked the books I read, but I’m not motivated to continue with the series. I hated The Foxhole Court. It might be the worst (or second worst?) book I’ve ever read.

Omg really? I’ve heard kind of mixed reviews on The Foxhole Court. What did you hate so much about it?
